Name:
Kevin Alexander Crane
aka K.C.
Age:
24
November 11.
Appearance:
6ft, blue eyes, brown hair.
(I’ll be using Chace Crawford as my charry)
Power/Special Ability:
Telepathic Absorption-
Telepathic Absorption is a form of telepathy which enables Kevin to copy memories, or even the entire mind of a person into his own mind. With this ability Kevin can acquire any knowledge, experiences, even menial thoughts that person may have had.
This is an incredibly versatile ability as it allows Kevin many possibilities. A simple handshake from the right person could grant all the knowledge and experience he needed too become a doctor, or mathematician.
TA has the potential to be used without physical contact as it is a form of telepathy. At this time Kevin is restricted to physical contact to employ his special ability.
Enhanced Mind-
It is unknown whether or not Kevin’s enhanced mental capabilities are a result of his TA ability or merely an extension of it.
Kevin demonstrates an eidetic like memory, capable of recalling near flawless detail of all he experiences. He has a broad spatial capacity enabling him to perform multiple functions of the mind at once. (e.g. listening to multiple subjects interpreting their language while solving a puzzle)
Kevin has a high capability for learning, and does so because he actually thinks and reacts at a genius level. (e.g. reading a lengthy book in mere minutes and being capable of reciting it without flaw.)
Limitations:
Telepathic Absorption-
In order for Kevin to copy a person’s mind he has to make physical contact with them. This can be in the form of a handshake or any other contact. However his ability does have the potential of being used without contact. In times of stress Kevin’s ability can be enabled in what he refers to as “maximum overdrive.” This cannot be triggered consciously, but there is various ways this is enabled. In heavy stressful situations, or possibly even fearful environments, Kevin’s ability will activate and absorb from all those around him. This can have a multitude of effects of Kevin. The severity of the effects depend on the amount of those around him, how long his ability is locked in maximum overdrive. And when this happens Kevin’s ability doesn’t seem to work as usual. Memories from those around him may come in as blurry, disoriented, and the timeline in which memories are created may become distorted. Also while in this state Kevin may suffer anxiety, fuzzyness, and may even become unconscious from the overload.
When Kevin copies a person’s mind he copies all experiences, thoughts or knowledge that person may have. This enables Kevin to think in the exact same manner as that person would. If he were to copy a mathematician’s mind he would basically be capable of displaying the same level of skill in math as that person, if not better because of his enhanced brain function. However his ability is limited in that he can only perform what he is physically capable of doing. Kevin could also use his ability on a professional basket ball player and acquire all the experience he would need to be a pro but still be physically incapable of keeping up with the trained player.
Enhance Mind-
Kevin’s eidetic memory allows him to recall his experiences with great detail, however, all that Kevin copies from someone else also becomes a part of his eidetic mind. This means when ever Kevin remembers a date he remembers where he was and what he was doing, but also has the memories from the people he’s copied.
Kevin uses meditation like and mnemonic techniques to attempt to organize all of the information in his head, but intense stressful situations and even drugs that affect brain function can disturb this.
His better known technique is his inner visualization of himself sorting and organizing his memory as if it were files in a room dressed with filing cabinets, boxes and other organizational equipment.
Personality/Outlook:
Kevin has an above average strive to enjoy and make the most of life.
He views his ability as a special gift to help him do his “best” at this.
For the most part he attempts to keep his problems to himself and even goes as far as to bare the burden of others. He’s the kind that will drop what he’s doing to help a complete stranger, even if it seemingly puts him at risk.
He enjoys puzzles and mystery and feels a sense of urgency to solve the unknown. His greatest puzzle being the “human factor” of life, in which he seems to be obsessed with the way people interact and react to things differently and why. He enjoys “pinning” people, a process which Kevin studies a person in an attempt to explain why that person is who they are. Only being pleased when he has seemingly labeled an “interesting” person putting them into the category of “uninteresting.”
Biography/History:
Coming Soon.
I need help with this. I plan for him to have a darker side related to his fathers death at a young age, which may even lead to a split personality who blames Kevin.
